When the development team were deciding on a product name, one of the key aims was to find a simple name that would be easy to use and would in some way personify or reflect core brand values.
After some deliberation, the Komodo Dragon was settled upon as the iconographic representation of the product.
These values include strength, longevity, adaptiveness, power, durability, intelligence and environmental suitability.
The Komodo Dragon is the largest surviving lizard on the planet. It is an intelligent, community minded monitor lizard, that grows to over three meters in length and can weigh over 70 kilograms. This fast and powerful animal has one of the most amazing immune systems of any creature and has adapted to its environment over eons of change from its prehistoric roots.
There is some conjecture that the Komodo Dragon is closely related to the Australian Goanna and share the same genetic parentage. As one of Australia's early exports, we share a similarity.
